I. Registration and payment
Choose your payment method before opening the form.
E-transfer
Send payment to info@oakvillechessclub.ca. Payments processed before June 1 count as early registration.
Cash on site
Cash on-site registration is automatically categorized as late registration.
II. Basic info
Players are grouped by CFC rating, not by gender.
Pairings are made impartially by computer. Tournament rules follow the FIDE Arbiter Manual edited by the FIDE Arbiter Commission in 2022.

U1800 and Crown sections may be combined depending on the number of registrants. If combined, prize money from both sections is added together and averaged.
III. Tournament format
Five rounds, Swiss format.
15 minutes plus 10 seconds increment.
30 minutes plus 15 seconds increment.
Swiss pairings across the event.
IV. Prize and medals
Trophies, medals, and shared prize money for tied scores.
U1400
Trophy for the champion. Medals for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places. Multiple medals may be awarded when players share the same score.
U1800
Prize money for 30+ participants per section.

If fewer than 30 players participate in each section, prize money is reduced proportionally, including being cut in half where applicable.
VI. Registration fees
Early registration is before June 1, inclusive.
After June 1, each section increases by $5. Discount amounts stay constant.

If a player qualifies for more than one discount, the lowest fee applies. Example: U1800 after June 1 with a $5 discount is $45.
